How dependent are Korean investors on centralized exchanges?
Sep 27, 2026

A new report shows that 94.8% of Korean digital asset investors keep their assets on domestic exchanges, highlighting the market’s strong reliance on centralized platforms.
The report also found that 60s investors were the most frequent exchange users, with 24.8% checking platforms at least twice a day. Use of additional services such as staking and recurring purchases also increased among investors with larger portfolios.
The findings point to the need for stronger investor protection, internal controls, security and operational resilience as Korea’s digital asset market continues to expand.
